Shaft Headframe

1. Hoisting and Suspension Function
Hoisting Ore/Materials: During the production phase, cages or skips are lifted from underground to the surface via steel ropes wound around headframe sheaves and hoists, transporting ore, waste rock, personnel, and supplies.
Suspending Construction Equipment: During the sinking phase:

◎ Suspended Platform: A working platform that protects personnel underground.

◎ Guide Ropes: Provide guidance for hoisting conveyances.

◎ Suspended Pump: Handles underground drainage.

◎ Ventilation Ducts, Compressed Air Pipes, Concrete Delivery Pipes: Supply ventilation, power, and concrete placement.

◎ Emergency Ladder: Serves as an emergency escape passage.

2. Load-Bearing and Support Function
◎ Bearing All Dynamic and Static Loads: Supports the total weight (static load) of hoisting conveyances, payloads, steel ropes, and various suspended equipment, as well as impact forces, wind loads, etc. (dynamic loads) generated during equipment start-stop and operation.
◎ Supporting the Sheave Platform: A robust platform at the top of the headframe, used for installing and securing the sheaves. The sheaves are key pulley assemblies that redirect the steel ropes.

3. Guidance and Protection Function

◎ Guiding the Hoisting Conveyances: Ensures that cages or skips travel smoothly and precisely along their designated paths within the shaft, preventing collisions and excessive swinging.

◎ Protecting the Shaft Opening: Forms the top framework of the shaft opening, preventing debris from falling in and serving as the base for installing shaft covers (which close during hoisting intervals to ensure safety).

4. Provision of Operational Platform and Space

◎ Guiding the Hoisting Conveyances: Ensures that cages or skips travel smoothly and precisely along their designated paths within the shaft, preventing collisions and excessive swinging.
